Hangman of the day

word: grammar
hint: English term
max: 6

Warm-up discussion

  • Why do we have personal and public identities?
  • What parts of our identity can we change?
  • What aspects of our identity, if any, are fixed?
  • What choices do we make in regard to our personal identities?
  • Do we perform identity?

Who are you?

  • Devide the sheet provided in half 4 times until you have 16 equal squares. Unfold the paper and cut each of these squares out.
  • Fill out the provided characteristic table - step 2 through 4.

Who are you? - continued

  • Stack your pieces of paper so that the one that is least important is on top and the most important one is on the bottom. Complete the activity like this: 3-5 students share their least important piece of paper; everyone balls it up and they throw it into the trash can. Repeat that round until you get to the last 3. Sharing is optional. Throw away the 3rd most important. Students can keep the last 2 (most important pieces).
  • Reflect on the activity by answering the questions in step 6 of the provided hand-out.

Create a meme

Create a meme based on this template that represents how you see yourself, how your friends see you, how your family sees you, how your teacher sees you, how you “really are,” and one free choice.
