Game mechanics I
Game mechanics II
Discuss the game mechanics of What Remains of Edith Finch.
- Mechanics What can the player do in the different sequences? Describe what you control and the actions you need to take as player.
- Dynamics How do these mechanics shape the player’s behaviour? How do they affect our attention to the story?
- Aesthetics What emotions or mental states do the sequences create? For example boredom, immersion, stress, excitement.
- Theme How do the mechanics support the theme of the sequence? Compare with how the language supports the theme of The Coronation of Mr. Thomas Shap.
Eksempel
- We cannot afford to buy the house. → Hovedverbum efterfulgt af infinitiv
- He kept asking the same questions.
Eksempel
- I hate telling people what I think about them.
- I hate to tell you that you didn’t win.
